Robots in Disguise!

Everyone needs a big summer action movie, and 'Transformers: Dark of the Moon' fits the bill. Michael Bay's latest in the machine-like success story that is the Transformers franchise is a darker affair than previous outings, but still has the brute force fun you'd expect from the action film maestro. Talk has been surrounding the cast, namely the absence of Megan Fox and her easy-on-the-eye looks, but the producers are no fools: they've brought in England's own Rosie Huntington-Whiteley -- one the new breed of talented models that can act as well as strut the cat walk.
If action ain't your thang then documentaries 'Life in a Day' and 'Senna' might be more to your taste. 'Senna' charts the life of mercurial F1 driver Ayrton Senna, Brazil's most famous man who died doing the thing he loved: driving cars faster and better than anyone else in the world. 'Life in a Day' has been receiving glowing reviews, a conceptual documentary created by hundreds of film-makers from all over the world -- it really needs to be seen to be properly appreciated.
As always, the VUE Islington is more than just a standard multiplex, with varied and interesting features showing every month alongside the Hollywood blockbusters. Take a look at the listings for the next seven days here.
